General information, Pete Loyen Tournament (Ottawa West Little League)

PrintGeneral information
Pierre ‘Pete’ Loyen is a former President of Carlingwood Frank Ryan and Ottawa West Little Leagues. Pete was instrumental in merging the former Carlingwood Frank Ryan and Pinecrest Little Leagues in 2013 to form Ottawa West Little League.

Pete has been involved with baseball in the Ottawa West area for many years. After stepping down and leaving the organization in a terrific place, the OWLL Executive decided it was only fitting to name our annual spring tournament after someone who was a pillar in bringing this league to life.

General Information:
While this is a travel ball/competitive tournament, its main goal is to be fun for the players and participants.  Parents (and coaches) should be setting a good example of sportsmanship to the young players.  Also, we have had a shortage of umpires in the past in part because of intimidation by adults.  So our league has taken a hard line on any sort of umpire abuse.  You as coaches are responsible for your team's parent's behaviour.
