OWLL typically offers two winter training programs: winter ball and specialized training sessions in pitching, catching, and hitting. For more information about these programs, please contact our VP of coach and player development.
Winter ball:
Winter ball is a skills training program that runs January to March. The purpose of this program is to give players the opportunity to work on their baseball skills over the winter months at Sir Robert Borden High School, Monarch, and the Sensplex. The program will start in January (various dates). Our winter ball program is run by volunteers (with guidance from experienced winter ball coaches.) If you are interested in helping, please contact our VP of coach and player development. Providing we have sufficient volunteers, we plan to offer training to players in the rookie to senior age divisions for girls and co-ed programs.
Specialty clinics:
Ottawa West hopes to offer a few 1 hour timeslots in the late winter. These rookie - senior specialty clinics lead into the spring season. There may be three different types of clinics available, pitching, catching, and batting. Each session is limited to 10 players. Players can typically only select one session from each category, if they are interested in more than one of the same specialty clinics, they must notify our registrar. Registration information will be posted here when clinics are offered.
Age limits:
- Pitching clinic for minor and up
- Catching clinic for rookie and up
- Batting clinic for rookie and up
